Parish History
Sts. Peter & Paul in Mantador was established in June 1881 as farming families of German and German-Russian Catholic heritage settled in Richland County, Dakota Territory. The current church was built in 1920, replacing an earlier structure, and has been in continuous use ever since. A 1981 centennial publication, 'St. Peter & St. Paul's Church, 1881-1981, Mantador, North Dakota,' documents the parish's first hundred years and is recorded by the Library of Congress. Today the parish shares pastoral leadership with neighboring St. Anthony of Mooreton (est. 1884), forming one faith community under Fr. Paul Kuhn.
