Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church is a multicultural Roman Catholic parish in West Valley City, Utah, in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Founded in August 1972 under Bishop William K. Federal to serve the Catholics of Granger, the parish today describes itself as a family of faithful from all five continents, with a Latino majority followed by Tongan and Samoan communities, and additional Anglos, Vietnamese, Africans, African Americans, Europeans, and Native Americans. Under its present Administrator, Father Sebastien Sasa Nganomo Babisayone, PhD, MPA — a theologian and missiologist from the Democratic Republic of Congo sent to Utah as Fidei Donum in 2017 — the parish runs an extensive missionary apostolate anchored by the Missionary Center Saints Peter and Paul (MCSPP), the parish archives named for founding pastor Msgr. Victor G. Bonnell, and a bilingual liturgical life with daily Mass in English and Spanish.

History of Saints Peter and Paul
The parish traces its roots to 1972, when the priests of Saint Patrick (Salt Lake City) and Saint Francis Xavier (Kearns) offered their services to the Catholics of Granger. With Bishop Federal's blessing, Saints Peter and Paul was established in August 1972. Father Victor G. Bonnell celebrated the first Masses at the Granger Weight Watchers Building, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Dick Trentman. Lay parishioners purchased the current property in March 1974; the first Mass on the site was celebrated in February 1975 and the parish was consecrated in June 1975. The parish marked its 50th anniversary on August 14, 2022.

Pastor and Staff
The parish is administered by Father Sebastien Sasa Nganomo Babisayone, PhD, MPA — a theologian, philosopher, and missiologist from the Democratic Republic of Congo, ordained in 1997 and holder of a Doctorate in Missiology from the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome. He was sent to Utah in 2017 as Fidei Donum and has served at Saint Joseph (Ogden), Saint Ambrose (Salt Lake City), and Saint George before being assigned to Saints Peter and Paul in August 2020. The diocesan directory also lists Deacon Juan E. Biaggini as serving the parish.

Sacraments
The parish prepares and celebrates all seven Catholic sacraments. The Sacraments page quotes the Catechism of the Catholic Church in describing Baptism as the gateway to life in the Spirit, Marriage as an intimate communion of life and love raised by Christ to the dignity of a sacrament, and Confirmation as the perfection of Baptismal grace. Faith Formation & Pastoral Care
Saints Peter and Paul organizes its pastoral life around named 'Pastoral Cares' (Pastoral Care of Youth & Young Adults, the Elderly, Marriage and Family, Culture, and Our Common Home) along with missionary groups and retreats throughout the year (beginning of the Pastoral Year, Advent, Lent, Confirmation, and Pentecost). The 2025–2026 Pastoral Plan theme is 'Faith in Action for a World of Hope,' with an Intergenerational Dialogue of Faith between elders and youth scheduled for October 31, 2025.

Missionary Apostolate
Under Father Sasa's leadership, the parish runs an unusually full missionary program. The Missionary Center Saints Peter and Paul (MCSPP) offers missionary formation, a Listening and Support Service, and promotes the four Pontifical Mission Societies. The Missionary Group Saints Peter and Paul, the Little Missionaries of Saints Peter and Paul, the missionary review Duc in Altum, and the annual Utah Catholic Missionary Week (UCMW) — in its fifth edition in October 2025 — flow out of that center. The Parish Archives Center Msgr. Victor G. Bonnell preserves sacramental registers, bulletins, photographs, and histories of the parish.

The parish describes itself as multicultural, with parishioners from all five continents. The parish participates in the West Valley City Interfaith Council through its representative Arline, and the Pastoral Care of Our Common Home carries out formation around climate change and care for creation in the spirit of Laudato Si'. The community also supports diaconate candidates (Octavio and Norma, Alfredo and Delfia, Rafael and Petra, Jesus and Gina), the Charismatic Renewal group 'Jesus the Good Shepherd,' and the parish choir 'Coro de Afiliación' led by Fili.
