Our History
Sts Boniface and James Parish resulted from the 1980 merger of two Ludlow, Kentucky parishes: one with German heritage (St. Boniface, founded 1872) and one with Irish heritage (St. James, founded 1887). German Catholics began settling in Ludlow in the 1850s, leading to the 1872 founding of St. Boniface Church. St. James Church was established in 1887 for Irish-speaking Catholics. Both churches grew through the 19th and early 20th centuries, with schools, convents, and ministries. The parish school peaked at over 200 students in the 1930s. The 1915 tornado damaged St. Boniface Church, which was repaired and rededicated in 1916. The 1980 merger created the current parish.
Ministries
The St. Vincent de Paul Society assists those in need in the Ludlow and Bromley communities. Services include food and clothing vouchers, furniture and houseware vouchers, and limited financial assistance for rent, utilities, and bills. Vouchers can be redeemed at four local St. Vincent de Paul Stores.

Sacraments
The parish offers all seven sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Marriage. Baptism is available for adults and children. Marriage is available for Roman Catholics, with planning required at least 6 months in advance.
