St. William Church is a historic Catholic parish near Philpot in Daviess County, Kentucky, serving the Knottsville community since 1887. Founded from the older St. Lawrence congregation, it offers traditional weekday, Saturday vigil, and Sunday Masses in a close-knit rural setting. History
St. William Church at Knottsville was founded on May 2, 1887, with Father James P. Cronin as its first pastor. The first Mass was offered on May 15, 1887, the cornerstone was blessed in May 1888, and the church was dedicated on October 27, 1889.
