St. Vincent Ferrer is a Roman Catholic parish in Kenwood (Cincinnati), Ohio, founded in 1946 and part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Named for the great Dominican preacher St. Vincent Ferrer, the parish serves more than 600 families and operates St. Vincent Ferrer School (Pre-K through 8th grade) on its campus at 7754 Montgomery Road. Today the parish is led by Father Daniel Hunt, pastor, and Father J. Tom Wray, parochial vicar, and is paired with neighboring All Saints Church as part of the St. Paul the Apostle Family of Parishes under the Archdiocese's Beacons of Light initiative.

Parish History
St. Vincent Ferrer Parish was established in 1946 to serve Catholic families in the rapidly growing Kenwood area, where surrounding parishes in Deer Park, Madeira and Madisonville had reached capacity. Archbishop John T. McNicholas, O.P., appointed Father Norbert J. Miller as administrator, and the first Mass was offered on St. Patrick's Day — Sunday, March 17, 1946 — in the Concord School gymnasium on Montgomery Road. From those modest beginnings in a single WWII-surplus hangar serving about 175 families, the parish has grown into a community of more than 600 families with its own school, church, community center and a wide range of ministries.
Founding and Early Years (1946–1955)
After the first Mass in the Concord School gymnasium, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati purchased approximately 12 acres near the Montgomery/Kenwood Road intersection. In July 1946 construction began on the parish's first building, a prefabricated surplus hangar that would eventually house church, rectory, offices, convent, classrooms and auditorium. Three Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Michigan — led by Sister Catherine Dennis as first principal — staffed the school. The convent was first occupied on Christmas Eve 1948, when Midnight Mass was celebrated in the new church below.

Growth and the Modern Campus (1956–1970)
By 1956 the parish had grown to 450 families with 339 children in the school, and Father Charles J. Blum began a master plan for new facilities. Ground was broken for a new school on November 9, 1958 and Auxiliary Bishop Paul Leibold dedicated it on October 25, 1959 — that same building is still used as the parish school today. Groundbreaking for the present church followed on February 2, 1969, with cornerstone blessings given by Bishop Edward McCarthy, and Archbishop Paul Leibold dedicated the new church on January 18, 1970. By the end of the decade the original hangar had been gutted and remodeled into a Community Center with offices, gym, chapel, meeting rooms and cafeteria, dedicated by Archbishop Joseph Bernardin.

Sacraments and Sacramental Preparation
The parish prepares Catholics of every age for the seven sacraments, with formation rooted in the home and reinforced through the parish school, the PREP Sunday program, the youth ministry and the OCIA/RCIA process for adults and older children. Deacon Brian Caperton, pastoral associate, coordinates most sacramental preparation; couples preparing for marriage are asked to contact the priests at least six months in advance.

Faith Formation and Religious Education
Religious education for parish children is available through several pathways: enrollment at St. Vincent Ferrer School, the parish PREP Sunday program for grades K–7, family-centered sacramental preparation, and the F.L.O.C.K. Sunday Religion Program offered jointly with All Saints Church. The parish catechumenate (OCIA/RCIA) runs year-round, with meetings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, September through May and at scheduled times in summer, using the FORMED curriculum in partnership with All Saints.

Youth Ministry
Youth in grades 7–12 are invited into a multi-parish youth ministry shared with All Saints. Junior high and high school groups meet separately and together on Sunday evenings on the All Saints campus, and high schoolers gather on Monday evenings for 'Highschoolers of the Well' (H.O.W.) discussion and catechesis.

St. Vincent Ferrer School
St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic School shares the parish campus at 7754 Montgomery Road and serves Pre-K through 8th grade with a faith-centered, academically rigorous program. The school is accredited through the Ohio Catholic School Accreditation Association and offers a 1:16 teacher-student ratio, weekly school Mass, foreign language, technology, STEM and arts enrichment, a before- and after-school program through Champions, and active parent involvement through the PTO.

St. Vincent Ferrer is paired with All Saints Catholic Church (8939 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati) as the St. Paul the Apostle (SPA) Family of Parishes under the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's Beacons of Light initiative.
