St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery

The parish maintains a historic Catholic cemetery on a steep hill in Bucksport. According to Find a Grave records, it was formerly known as the Pond Cemetery, before the creation of Silver Lake, with burials going back to the early 1800s. Because of the steep terrain the headstones need to be straightened and checked regularly.

Clergy and Staff

Since July 5, 2023, St. Vincent de Paul / Stella Maris Parish has been served by Fr. Emile Dubé, who was appointed by Bishop Robert Deeley. Fr. Dubé is a native of Lewiston, a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, and was ordained to the priesthood in 2012 at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. Prior to ordination he served for 35 years as a brother in the Salesians of St. John Bosco. He simultaneously serves as pastor of the Parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord (Holy Redeemer, Bar Harbor; St. Peter, Manset; Our Lady Star of the Sea, Little Cranberry Island), Stella Maris Parish, and St. Joseph Parish (Ellsworth area), and as rector of St. Ignatius Chapel, Northeast Harbor.
