St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish and School is a faith-filled Catholic community in the Holladay/east Salt Lake City area of Utah, within the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City. The parish was canonically established on November 21, 1961 by Archbishop Thomas Connelly with about 300 founding families, and its parish school has been in continuous operation on a 22-acre campus since 1964. A defining feature of the parish is its dedicated American Sign Language (ASL) Mass every Sunday at 9:00 am, with ASL interpreters also available for funerals, holy days, education, OCIA, and other sacraments, making St. Vincent's a regional hub for Deaf and hard-of-hearing Catholics. The parish combines an active sacramental life, parish school (infant through 8th grade), Nano Nagle Children's Center, Mother Teresa Extended Daycare, and ministries from OCIA to youth group and Bible studies, all under the leadership of Rev. History
St. Vincent de Paul Parish was canonically established on November 21, 1961 by Archbishop Thomas Connelly, with about 300 founding families. School construction followed in 1963, and the school opened September 9, 1964. The Presentation Sisters arrived from Ireland in 1965 and shaped the school's Catholic identity for nearly thirty years, with the last class under their leadership graduating in 1994. The parish grew steadily through the 1970s and 1980s; a new church was dedicated in 1996 to accommodate the larger worshipping community, with major campus additions completed in fall 2003.

The parish offers daily Mass Monday through Saturday at 9:00 am, and three Sunday Masses: Saturday vigil at 5:00 pm, Sunday at 9:00 am (ASL signed), 11:30 am, and 5:00 pm. Holy Days of Obligation are observed at 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. Reconciliation is heard Saturday afternoons from 4:00 to 4:45 pm, and by appointment with the priest.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The Faith Formation Office, located in the Benvegnu Center, offers religion classes for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade for children who do not attend a Catholic school, with classes held during the school year on Sunday mornings between the two morning Masses. The program provides age-appropriate Church teaching, preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation, and a faith community for the whole family. For ninth-graders and older, there is a thriving youth group with regular service to the community and social activities. All children and youth are welcome, including those with special needs. Teachers are trained, certified Catechists required to complete Safe Environment Training and safety screening.

OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)
Adults interested in learning more about the Roman Catholic faith, including those who may want to be baptized and received into the Church, participate in the OCIA process. Instruction begins in late summer and continues throughout the year, culminating at Easter; depending on circumstances it may be a two-year process. Baptisms and Confirmations take place at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday. Parishioners are encouraged to serve as sponsors and contributors.

Bible Studies & Adult Faith Formation
The parish offers both Women's and Men's Bible Studies. The Women's Bible Study meets Tuesdays 9:30 am to 11:30 am at the Benvegnu Center from September through May, featuring an engaging video presentation followed by group discussion and fellowship. The Men's Bible Study meets year-round in Holy Family Hall.

Saint Vincent de Paul Parish School
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School is a co-educational, Christ-centered community from infants through 8th grade, operated by the parish within the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City and open to all faiths. The school was founded in 1963, opened in 1964, and has maintained an outstanding record of student achievement for more than 50 years. Current enrollment is 251 students; the school is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association of Schools and Colleges and by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. The 22-acre campus includes Holy Family Hall (hot lunch, band room, school functions), the Benvegnu Center, an outdoor pavilion, Mother Teresa's Extended Daycare Center, Nano Nagle Childcare Center (opened 2009), gymnasium, playground, prayer garden, Stations of the Cross path, and athletic fields.

Nano Nagle Children's Center & Mother Teresa Extended Daycare
The Nano Nagle Children's Center (NNCC) is named for the founder of the Presentation Sisters, who provided the parish community with education, growth, and spiritual guidance from 1965 until 1994. The center opened in February 2009 to provide full-time child care for infants through three-year-olds to the families of St. Vincent de Paul School and Parish and the surrounding community. All NNCC teachers are CPR, first aid, and food handlers certified and acquire twenty hours of professional development each year. Mother Teresa's Extended Daycare Center offers school parents a safe place for their children before and after school.

The parish community gathers to pray the Rosary on Saturday and Thursday mornings following the 9:00 am Mass, and on the 5th Sunday of the month following the 5:00 pm Mass.
