History
Founded in 1991 and named for the French priest St. Vincent de Paul, the parish has grown from a young suburban mission into one of northwest Omaha's largest Catholic communities. A six-phase master plan has unfolded in stages — Education Center and school (1994), Education Center Phase II (1996), the 1,000-seat worship space dedicated February 6, 1998, cafeteria/kitchen/offices (1999), the junior high addition and sports fields (2012), and the parish hall, meeting rooms, and Outreach Center with the Divine Mercy Pantry (2019).

Pastoral Council
The Pastoral Council is a policy-forming board that advises the pastor. It consists of nine members; parishioners may apply in February for consideration by the Selection Committee. The Council meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Becoming Catholic (OCIA / OCIC)
The parish welcomes adults and children who want to learn more about the Catholic Church through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA, formerly RCIA) and the Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC).
Religious Formation (Preschool–Grade 8)
Religious formation classes are offered for children in grades 1–8, meeting on Wednesdays from 4:30–5:45 p.m. and 6:15–7:30 p.m. between late August and April. Catechists and co-catechists facilitate faith formation, with in-services, training, and materials provided. Jennifer McMahan directs the program; Bonnie Frics and Melissa Seppala assist administratively.

Youth Ministry (Junior High & Senior High)
The Youth Ministry, led by Selena Thompson, ministers to junior high and senior high students with weekly or monthly nights that mix games, fellowship, Adoration, praise and worship, confession, teaching, and small-group discussion. The parish also travels each summer to the Steubenville Youth Conference for high-schoolers.

Worship & Music
Kathy Mayer serves as Director of Worship with Theresa Keane as Worship Assistant. Music and liturgical ministry support the parish's weekend and daily Masses, and the 1,000-seat worship space dedicated in 1998 anchors the campus.

Sacraments
The parish prepares Catholics for the sacraments of Christian initiation and life milestones. Couples contact the parish to begin marriage preparation; the homebound and those in hospitals and care facilities receive Communion from trained Extraordinary Ministers; families with infants and children begin Baptism preparation through the parish office.

Divine Mercy Pantry
The Divine Mercy Pantry provides food to an average of 300 households each month. All parishioners are invited to donate food, volunteer time, or pray for clients. The pantry is open the second and fourth Mondays of every month; volunteers also restock shelves and help with behind-the-scenes tasks. All volunteers must complete a pantry orientation and Safe Environment certification.

Tanzania Mission Partnership
The Tanzania Outreach Committee promotes an ongoing partnership between the Archdiocese of Songea and St. Vincent de Paul, partnering with Lighano Minor Seminary to support seminarians with projects like mosquito netting, water purification wells, doors, PCs, and updated chemistry lab facilities. Some members participate in yearly trips to Tanzania, and the committee meets monthly to plan travel, events, fundraising, prayer, and cultural exchange.

St. Vincent de Paul School (Preschool–8)
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School is home to more than 800 students, preschool through eighth grade, serving the parish and surrounding northwest Omaha community. The school was dedicated in 1994 and has expanded several times to keep pace with the growing parish. The mission is to provide quality spiritual, educational, social, and service opportunities in a respectful learning environment reflective of Catholic beliefs.
