About St. Vincent de Paul Mission
St. Vincent de Paul Mission is a Catholic mission chapel at 6389 LA Highway 1 in Innis, Louisiana. It is a dependent mission of St. Ann Catholic Church in nearby Morganza, and together they form the combined 'St. Ann & St. Vincent' parish within the Diocese of Baton Rouge. The two worship sites share one pastor, one parish office, one faith-formation program, and one calendar of ministries.
History of the Chapel
The chapel traces its origins to a 1949 lot purchase in Innis, followed on March 15, 1954 by the $10,000 purchase of part of the Innis Plantation, on which stood an apiary (bee house) that was converted into a church. After 1956 renovations, the Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul was formally dedicated on February 24, 1957. A parish hall was soon added, but growth forced the community to swap roles: the hall became the new chapel and the original chapel was converted back into a hall. The parish also boasts a remarkable vocational legacy — in 1955 five girls from the parish entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, all making first vows in 1958.

The parish also points parishioners to FORMED for weekly reflections on the Sunday readings and Lectio Divina/Bible Study programs.
