Founded in 1961 as a mission church of St. Ann Parish and raised to parish status in 1965, it serves a diverse worshipping community with Masses in both English and Spanish. Parish History
St. Vincent de Paul was established in 1961 as a mission of St. Ann Parish on land purchased by Bishop Vincent S. Waters of Raleigh on Old Reid Road, and was raised to parish status on July 9, 1965. Over six decades the parish has grown from a borrowed gymnasium into a full campus with a dedicated church (1999), Ministry Center and Chapel (2014), and a freshly renovated worship space (2024). Worship Schedule
The parish offers daily Mass Monday through Thursday, Saturday morning Mass, a Saturday Vigil, and five Sunday Masses including one in Spanish. Confessions are heard every weekday afternoon, and Eucharistic Adoration fills the chapel on Thursdays and Fridays.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The Faith Formation office assists parents in their responsibility as the primary educators of their children in the Catholic faith, using the Faith and Life Curriculum for grades K through 8. Programs include Image of God (Kindergarten), SPRED, immediate preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, Confirmation preparation, and RCIA/OCIA for adults and older children.

First Communion & Confirmation Requirements
To register a child for First Communion the family must be registered at St. Vincent de Paul, the child must have completed at least two years of religious education in a parish or Catholic school, be in second grade or higher, and be baptized in the Catholic Church. A mandatory parent orientation session is held each November.

St. Vincent de Paul Preschool
St. Vincent de Paul Preschool offers a play-based, hands-on, half-day program for children ages 2 to 4, with low student-to-teacher ratios that allow individualized learning. The Catholic faith is integrated into every part of the day through daily prayer, bible stories, songs, chapel lessons, and the celebration of saints and holy days.

Parish Ministries & Outreach
St. Vincent de Paul supports a wide network of ministries for faith, fellowship, and service. The St. Vincent de Paul Society and Homeless Relief ministry provide charitable assistance, while the Visitation Ministry brings the Eucharist to the sick and homebound. The parish also hosts a Music Ministry, Youth Ministry, Evangelization and Communication Commission, Women's Guild, Craft Group, Knights of Columbus Council 9560, and Scout troops.

Information on the seven sacraments is provided through the parish office, Faith Formation office, and RCIA/OCIA programs. The Visitation Ministry coordinates Anointing of the Sick and Communion visits for those who are homebound or in hospitals.
