Our History in Cape Girardeau
The Catholic Church in Southern Missouri dates back to 1821 with Louis Lorimier. The parish family traces its roots to April 9, 1936, with its first resident pastor. The St. Vincent de Paul Grade School was built in 1956. The current church was dedicated in 1976 under the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul. In 2017, Reverend Rick Jones was assigned as the new pastor.

Youth Ministry
The St. Vincent de Paul Young Apostles (SVYM) serves youth grades 6-12 with gatherings, service projects, and regional/national conferences. Events include Holy Hour, Faith & Floats, Dead Theologians Society, Holy Hayride, and participation in Diocesan, Regional, and National Youth Conferences.
