St. Thomas the Apostle Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in Vienna, Ohio, in Trumbull County, that belongs to the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. It was formed in 2010 by the merger of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Vienna and St. Bernadette Parish in Masury — two 'twin' communities that chose the name 'Thomas' (Greek for 'twin') to mark their union into one faith family. A new combined worship site on Warren-Sharon Road was dedicated on July 3, 2016, the feast of St. Thomas the Apostle, by Bishop George V. Murry, S.J. Today the parish is part of the TNCC (Thomas/Neumann/Collaborative Cluster) family of parishes, sharing pastoral staff with St. William in Champion and St. Robert Bellarmine in Cortland.

Parish History
St. Thomas the Apostle Parish was established October 7, 2010, by the merger of two Trumbull County communities: St. Vincent de Paul in Vienna (originally organized around 1871, with a mission church dedicated by Bishop Richard Gilmour in 1878 and refounded as a parish in 1934 by Archbishop Joseph Schrembs) and St. Bernadette in Masury (begun as a 1934 mission of St. Patrick Parish in Hubbard and dedicated as a church in December 1940). The combined parish took the name 'St. Thomas the Apostle' because Thomas means 'twin' in Greek, marking the union of the two communities. A new church was dedicated July 3, 2016 — the Feast of St. Thomas — by Bishop George V. Murry, S.J.

Our Patron — St. Thomas the Apostle
The patronage of St. Thomas the Apostle was chosen by the parishioners of both St. Vincent de Paul (Vienna) and St. Bernadette (Masury) when the two communities merged in 2010. The name 'Thomas' means 'twin' in Greek, and the two parishes — coming together as one — saw themselves as twins joined into a single faith family. The new church was deliberately dedicated on July 3, 2016, the liturgical feast of St. Thomas.

Worship Site, Building & Architecture
The 2016 church was designed as a physical symbol of the merger. Altars, stained glass windows, shrines and statuary from both St. Vincent de Paul and St. Bernadette were incorporated into the new worship site. The exterior uses two colors of brick, representing the two former parishes, and the original cornerstones of both predecessor parishes are embedded in the building. The complex retains the older rectory and parish hall (now renamed the Fr. Frank Zanni Parish Hall) from the former St. Vincent de Paul campus next door.

Devotions & Holy Rosary
Beyond the regular liturgical schedule, the parish maintains the traditional devotion of the Holy Rosary before each Vigil Mass, an annual May Crowning of the Queen of Heaven, ecumenical Lenten lunches, an ecumenical Thanksgiving Service, and occasional Young-Adult special Masses.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
