St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church is a parish of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis located in the southeast corner of Eagan, Minnesota. Founded in 1989 in response to the rapid growth of northern Dakota County in the 1980s, the community first gathered in a temporary space nicknamed 'the old post office' before dedicating its current church building with the Easter Vigil on April 3, 1994. Today the parish serves over 1,600 families with a Spirit-led mission to welcome each person by name, to love, to serve and to be hope.

History of St. Thomas Becket
St. Thomas Becket was established in 1989 to serve the rapidly growing Catholic population of northern Dakota County. Father Thomas Kommers was named founding pastor. While the permanent church was under construction, the congregation met in a temporary location they nicknamed 'the old post office.' The first Mass in the completed church was the Easter Vigil on April 3, 1994. From its earliest days the parish has been defined by service to the local community, and today it serves over 1,600 families.

Staff & Clergy
The parish is currently shepherded by Father Tim Wozniak, the second pastor in the community's history. A St. Louis Park native and the oldest of eight siblings, Fr. Tim was ordained in 1974 and previously served twelve years as pastor of Risen Savior in Burnsville and twelve years as pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas in St. Paul Park before being installed at St. Thomas Becket in October 2011. He can be reached at the parish office at extension 104, and is often seen around the church before or after Mass with his Golden Retriever.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Lifelong faith formation is one of the parish's four core values. Programs serve learners from preschool through high school, alongside adult learning, sacramental preparation, and small-group discipleship. Faith Formation classes (Early Bird) are priced at $100 per child, with family maximums and additional fees for sacramental prep and Confirmation. Middle schoolers (grades 6–8) meet approximately three Wednesday evenings a month from 7:00–8:00 PM, using The Catholic Connections Handbook for Middle Schoolers with social-justice emphases. Confirmation is a two-year high school program ($85 Year 1, $175 Year 2 including retreat).

Faithful Shepherd Catholic School
St. Thomas Becket is one of three Northern Dakota County Catholic parishes that founded and continue to support Faithful Shepherd Catholic School in Eagan. The school builds academic excellence for students in pre-K through grade 8 on a foundation of academics, community and faith, welcoming all learners.

Ministries & Parish Life
Parishioner-led ministry at St. Thomas Becket is organized into six councils that guide outreach and volunteer efforts. Each council represents a different facet of parish life, from worship and faith formation to social justice and community-building. The parish also invites parishioners to complete a Gift Bank Inventory Survey and a Gift Ministry Interest Form to match gifts and callings with opportunities to serve.

Service is at the heart of St. Thomas Becket's identity, rooted in Jesus' reminder that 'He did not come to be served, but to serve.' Outreach includes Catholic Relief Services programs for youth, partnership with Twin Cities Catholic Charities, and Care of Creation initiatives that connect faith to action in the wider community.

Sacraments
The parish celebrates the seven sacraments in close partnership with families and lifelong learners. Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is offered alongside regular faith formation classes (in-home, Wednesday nights, or through Faithful Shepherd Catholic School).
