About St. Therese Parish - St. Lawrence · Stangelville, Wisconsin
St. Therese Parish – St. Lawrence is the historic Stangelville worship site of St. Therese de Lisieux Parish in the Diocese of Green Bay. Founded in 1863 by Czech immigrants, the community built its present Gothic Revival church in 1892–1894; the complex was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. In 2000, St. Lawrence merged with St. Hedwig and St. Joseph–St. John to form St. Therese Parish, which continues to gather for Mass and ministry in the Stangelville church.

History
St. Lawrence traces its roots to 1863 Czech immigrant settlers in Kewaunee County. A log church was replaced by the present brick Gothic Revival building (1892–1894), which became a National Register landmark in 1989. In 2000 the parish merged with St. Hedwig and St. Joseph–St. John to form St. Therese de Lisieux Parish.
Architecture
Designed by Jon Paulu, the cream-brick church measures 50 by 100 feet with a 150-foot steeple. The richly decorated interior includes a hand-carved altar by Fr. Adalbert Cipin (1875), Perpendicular Gothic altars by Joseph Svoboda, and 1912 frescoes restored in 1957.
Ministries & Community Life
Parishioners serve through liturgical ministries, a weekly prayer cenacle, rosary, adoration, food drives, blood drives, coat drives, scrip, parish dinners, and regional Christian Experience Weekends.
Faith Formation
Religious education and Confirmation preparation are offered across the parish cluster, with Grade 11 sessions held at the St. Lawrence site.
