Hurricane Laura Recovery
After Hurricane Laura damaged the church building, the parish began celebrating Mass in its Activity Center and continues to gather there while repairs are underway. The parish website prominently features a Recovery Report and a Hurricane Laura support link, and the community invites parishioners and visitors to join them in their temporary worship space for the 'next few months' of rebuilding.

Parish Clergy and Staff
St. Theodore is pastored by Very Reverend Aubrey V. Guilbeau, V.E., who has served the Diocese of Lake Charles since his ordination in 1982 by founding Bishop Jude Speyrer. He is also the diocesan Vicar for Clergy and has served the parishes of St. Raphael, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and others within the diocese. In addition, he serves as Chaplain of the Deaf Apostolate, celebrating a Saturday evening Mass in voice and American Sign Language.

Pastoral Leadership History
Diocese of Lake Charles records show that Fr. John Huckaby served as pastor of St. Theodore until June 1, 2017, when Bishop Glen John Provost approved a leave of absence from priestly ministry. Effective July 1, 2017, Bishop Provost appointed Very Reverend Aubrey Guilbeau as the new pastor of St. Theodore, Moss Bluff, while Father Guilbeau continued in his role as Vicar for Clergy for the diocese.

Ministries and Apostolates
The parish supports the Cursillo / Ultreya lay movement, which forms small Christian friendship groups that meet weekly and gather for larger Ultreya celebrations. The parish also hosts the diocesan Deaf Apostolate, providing a weekly Mass in voice and American Sign Language celebrated by Fr. Guilbeau. Safe Environment compliance and a parish census / new parishioner form are also part of parish life.

Parishioners can request copies of baptism, first communion, confirmation, marriage and other sacrament certificates through an online form on the parish website. Daily Mass and confession schedules indicate that Reconciliation is regularly available, and weekday Masses provide regular access to the Eucharist.
