History

St. Teresa Parish was founded in 1926 by Bishop Henry Althoff and carved out of the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Luke parishes. The first pastor, Rev. William Hoff, gathered about 120 German-American families, and the church and school were dedicated on August 29, 1926. The School Sisters of Notre Dame arrived that September to staff the new school.
