St. Teresa of Calcutta is a Catholic parish in Woodinville, Washington, in the Archdiocese of Seattle, founded in 2004 to serve the growing Catholic population of the greater Woodinville area, which previously had no Catholic church. The parish worships in a converted industrial warehouse originally renovated into a sanctuary in 2012, made up largely of second-hand furnishings gifted or borrowed from other parishes in the archdiocese. As of 2024 it is twinned with St. Brendan Parish in Bothell under Archbishop Etienne's Partners in the Gospel parish-family initiative, sharing one pastor — currently Fr. Nicholas F. Wichert — and a parochial vicar, Fr. Peter Adoko-Enchill.

St. Teresa of Calcutta offers a warm, multigenerational Catholic home in the Eastside Deanery with multiple Sunday Masses (Saturday Vigil at 5:00 pm; Sundays at 9:00 am, 11:00 am and 5:00 pm) and daily Mass Tuesday through Friday, plus daily Eucharistic Adoration and Saturday confessions. A full Faith Formation program (Children's Catechesis for Pre-K–5, a dynamic Youth Ministry for middle and high schoolers, and Adult Faith Formation/OCIA), Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul, a Men's Group, Flower Ministry, Funeral Reception Ministry and Social Life Committee give almost any parishioner a place to serve. As part of Parish Family 9 with St. Brendan in Bothell, members now also share ministries, schools and staff across both parishes under one pastor, with families especially encouraged to 'Cross the Bridge' between the two communities.

Parish History
St. Teresa of Calcutta was planted in 2004 by the Archdiocese of Seattle under founding pastor Fr. K. Scott Connolly, who celebrated the first Mass that November — attracting about 800 people to a barn on roughly ten acres the archdiocese had bought from a former riding school. For several years the parish offices remained in the barn while weekend Masses moved first to a nearby Lutheran church, then into a junior-high school cafeteria. When that arrangement ended in 2008, parishioners and an archdiocesan loan converted an unused truck-driving-school warehouse on the same property into a permanent sanctuary, dedicated in 2012. The building and its furnishings — many rescued or donated from elsewhere in the archdiocese — give the parish a distinctive, patchwork character. After Fr. Connolly was reassigned in July 2010, Fr. Frank Schuster became the second pastor, and the parish continued to grow rapidly; a major 'Forward in Faith – Growing Together' capital campaign raised over $1.5 million to expand the social hall and classrooms. In February 2024 the parish was paired with nearby St. Brendan in Bothell as Parish Family 9 under Archbishop Etienne's Partners in the Gospel planning process.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Faith Formation at St. Teresa of Calcutta spans every age, with three coordinators handling children, youth, and adults. The Children's Catechesis program covers Pre-K through 5th grade, Youth Ministry serves middle-school and high-school students (and prepares them for Confirmation), and Adult Faith Formation runs the parish's OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, formerly RCIA) process for those joining the Church.

Parish Life groups give almost any parishioner a way to serve, either inside the church building or in the wider Woodinville community. Several of them are designed to be low-commitment and family-friendly, so newcomers can plug in without an ongoing time burden.

Service & Outreach
Outreach has been central to the parish from the beginning: even before the parish had a permanent home, parishioners were serving meals at a tent-city encampment in the Seattle area, helping clean up and rebuild after the December 2007 Southwest Washington floods, doing the same after Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi, and raising funds for mosquito nets and orphans in Kenya. Today the parish maintains an active St. Vincent de Paul conference and a Knights of Columbus council focused on material and spiritual works of mercy, and participates in parish-family service events with St. Brendan in Bothell.

Parish Family 9 & Partners in the Gospel
On February 2, 2024 — the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord — Archbishop Paul D. Etienne formally grouped St. Teresa of Calcutta with St. Brendan Parish in Bothell as 'Parish Family 9' under the archdiocese's Partners in the Gospel pastoral-planning initiative. Parish families unite two or more parishes under one pastor, sharing staff and ministries and growing toward becoming one canonical parish over roughly three years. Fr. Nicholas F. Wichert now pastors both communities with the help of Parochial Vicar Fr. Peter Adoko-Enchill and a shared staff. Parishioners have responded warmly, hosting joint events such as the December 'Parent's Great Escape' (free childcare for parents), parish-family Advent wreath making, shared prayer groups and meals, and a 'Cross the Bridge' invitation to visit and worship at the partner parish.
