St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee serving the communities of North Lake and Monches in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. The parish was formed on June 25, 2006, by the merger of two historic congregations — St. Clare in North Lake (founded 1916) and St. John the Baptist in Monches (founded 1843) — and was originally known as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish. In September 2016, following Mother Teresa's canonization, the name was shortened to St. Teresa of Calcutta. The parish worships at two sites: the North Lake Church & Parish Center on State Road 83 and the historic St. John the Baptist Church in Monches. Described by visitors as 'prayerful, authentic in praise, and dedicated to outreach,' it retains the intimate feel of its country-church roots.

Parish History
St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish was formed on June 25, 2006, by the merger of two historic congregations — St. Clare in North Lake (founded 1916) and St. John the Baptist in Monches (founded 1843). It was originally called Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish and was renamed St. Teresa of Calcutta in September 2016 following Mother Teresa's canonization.
St. Clare, North Lake
St. Clare Congregation was incorporated in July 1916, with the first Masses held in the hall above the village hardware and grocery store. On October 3, 1917, Fr. Louis N. Zirbes and the parishioners broke ground for the new Tudor Gothic church, built with Lannon quarry stone in a random rubble pattern and formally dedicated by Archbishop Messmer on April 30, 1919. A 1941 addition raised seating to 250 and membership to 104 families. The building was expanded again in 2016 in the 'Growing With God' campaign, which added seating, a gathering space, stained glass by Conrad Schmitt Studios, and accessible restrooms — all completed debt-free in time for the first Mass on Christmas Eve 2016.
St. John the Baptist, Monches
The first Catholic settlers arrived in Monches in September 1842, and Fr. Martin Kundig celebrated Mass in the home of William McGrath that November. A log church was completed the following year. The present English Gothic church, designed by the Milwaukee firm Eschweiler & Eschweiler, was begun under Rev. Wm. Mahoney in 1917. It features Lannon stone, a stone tower with copper spire, seating for 300, a high altar with two side altars, stained-glass windows, and a choir gallery.
The Growing With God Expansion (2015–2016)
In 2015 the parish launched a $1.8 million capital campaign to expand the North Lake church. The project was driven by the upcoming retirement of longtime pastor Fr. William Stanfield and the Archdiocese's expectation that fewer Masses would be celebrated at the site — meaning more people would need to be seated for each Mass. Generous parishioner giving allowed the work to be completed without debt. Construction began immediately after Easter 2016 and the first Mass in the expanded space was celebrated on Christmas Eve 2016. In spring 2017 a garden with a statue of St. Teresa of Calcutta was added at the front and north side of the church.

Formation & Discipleship (Religious Education)
The parish runs a full lifelong Faith Formation program, described as 'promoting the growth of each student's sacred faith' and nurturing a personal relationship with God, an appreciation of the Sacraments (especially the True Presence in the Eucharist), love of God's Word, and a Catholic conscience formed for service to others. Special-education religious education is available by contacting the Formation Office.

The North Lake church and Parish Center are fully wheelchair accessible, with a ramp on the north side, a flat eastern entrance, reserved accessible parking, accessible restrooms off the Gathering Space, and assistive-listening headsets kept in the sacristy. (The Monches worship space is not accessible.) Low-gluten hosts (37 micrograms) are routinely available at both sites.
