History
From 1940 mission Masses above downtown Clinton to an independent parish in the Diocese of Madison in 1970, St. Stephen has served Catholic families in southern Rock County for generations.
- 1940: Fr. Stephen Peil begins occasional Masses in Clinton from St. Catherine, Sharon
- 1945: Monthly year-round Masses established
- 1948-1970: Clinton mission of St. Catherine Parish with weekly chapel Masses
- July 1970: Fr. Gerard Healy assigned; parish incorporated as St. Stephen's in Madison Diocese
- January 14, 1970s: Groundbreaking with Bishop Cletus O'Donnell
- September 1973: First services in new church
- 2023/2024: Became part of Queen of Martyrs Parish
