Our History
St. Stephen Catholic Church has been serving the Catholic community since 1885. The current church building was dedicated on August 28, 2003, by Auxiliary Bishop Jose Gomez. The parish has been served by 22 pastors and two deacons over its 112-year history. The church is a spiritual and community hub for Glenwood Springs and surrounding areas, supported by groups like the Knights of Columbus, Altar and Rosary Society, and Hearts and Hands Senior Ministry.
Ministries
The parish offers a variety of liturgical ministries including Altar Servers, Lectors, Ushers, and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. The Music Ministry welcomes parishioners to share their musical talents in service to the liturgy. Youth Ministry and Religious Education are also active, with coordinators and dedicated staff supporting these programs.
