History

St. Stanislaus is an old mission church in Tehama that was reopened for regular Catholic worship by Father Miguel Silva while he served the Corning-area Catholic community. According to a diocesan history of Saint Dominic Parish in Orland, Father Miguel 'decided to open the unused Mission Church of Saint Stanislaus in the town of Tehema. He began by celebrating two early Masses there on Sunday mornings, a Mass in English at 7 AM and a Mass in Spanish at 8 AM.' The mission has continued without interruption since that reopening and today offers a consolidated bilingual 8 AM Sunday Mass.

  • Originally offered separate English (7 AM) and Spanish (8 AM) Sunday Masses
  • Now consolidated into a single bilingual 8 AM Sunday Mass
  • A historic photo of the church by John E. Boll is preserved in the diocesan archive
