St. Stanislaus Parish is a small, close-knit Catholic community located in Hofa Park, a rural Polish-American settlement in the Town of Maple Grove, about seven miles west of Pulaski, Wisconsin. Founded in 1888 by Polish immigrants and served from the beginning by Franciscan friars who came from Poland, the parish is today part of the Diocese of Green Bay and shares pastoral staff with its sister parish, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Pulaski, in a tri-parish cluster that also includes St. Casimir in nearby Krakow. The current church at W1888 Hofa Park Drive is the third on or near the site, replacing earlier buildings lost to regional fires, and the parish remains famous locally for its annual outdoor Polka Mass and old-fashioned church picnic each June.

History: Founded by Polish Immigrants
St. Stanislaus owes its existence to John J. Hof, the man whose name is preserved in 'Hofa Park.' Between 1877 and 1900 Hof helped more than 1,000 Polish families settle in Hofa Park, Pulaski, Sobieski, Kosciuszko, and Krakow, and St. Stanislaus became the very first church built for Polish immigrants in the region. The pioneer log church was raised in 1883 and placed under the patronage of St. Adalbert, with a district school following in 1885. The community lost the log church to a devastating regional fire in 1886, then built and dedicated a new church on December 2, 1888 — the parish's official founding moment — with support from Polish-Americans in Milwaukee, Chicago, and beyond.

The 1935 Fire and the Present Church
On June 15, 1935, a fire traced to an electric light fixture again destroyed the parish church — the second time in fifty years. The Catholic community moved quickly to rebuild, and the church that stands today was solemnly dedicated on November 3, 1935, a little more than four and a half months after the fire. The parish's Polish-American and Franciscan character has continued unbroken since.

Served by Franciscan Friars
Two Franciscan friars traveled from Poland to take charge of the new parish in 1888, beginning a Franciscan pastoral tradition that has continued for more than a century. Today the parish is staffed from the Assumption BVM rectory in Pulaski by Franciscans of the Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe: the pastor of record (per the 2023–24 diocesan directory) is Rev. David Kobak, OFM, with the parochial vicar role previously carried by Rev. Carmen Scuderi, OFM. Pastoral Minister Janet Maroszek and business managers Jean Banker and Julie Jarock help run the day-to-day operations of the Pulaski family of parishes, which includes St. Stanislaus.

The Hofa Park Church Picnic
The highlight of the year for St. Stanislaus is the annual Hofa Park Church Picnic in June. It begins with an outdoor Polka Mass at 10:00 AM, then continues with live polka music, food and refreshments, raffles, games, and socializing until 4:00 PM. The parish describes it as 'a good, old-fashioned church picnic that celebrates community and Catholic identity while raising funds for parish operations.' It is both the parish's signature social event and an important fundraiser.
