St. Stanislaus Catholic Church is a historic Polish National Parish located at 4002 J Street in the South Omaha neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska. Founded in 1919 by Polish immigrants who had settled in the area beginning in 1886, it is one of the oldest Polish-heritage Catholic parishes in the city. Designated a Polish National Parish in the Archdiocese of Omaha, it has no formal territorial boundaries and welcomes anyone — particularly those of Polish descent — to join the community. The parish serves its congregants alongside neighboring St. Bridget's Church, sharing daily Mass and Holy Day schedules between the two parishes.

History & Polish Heritage
St. Stanislaus Parish was established in 1919 by Polish immigrants who had settled in South Omaha beginning in 1886. Polish life in Omaha traces back to those early arrivals, and as the community grew, families initially worshipped at St. Joseph, St. Mary Magdalene, and St. Wenceslaus churches before founding their own parish. The cornerstone at 41st & J Streets was laid in 1919, and a combination brick church-and-school building was completed in 1920. The present church was begun in 1953 and dedicated in March 1955; the old church interior was removed and replaced with eight classrooms, and the school re-opened in September 1955. The school operated for decades until it was closed in 1997 for financial reasons.

Buildings & Facilities
The parish's present church building was begun in 1953 and dedicated in March 1955. After the new church was completed, the original 1920 combination brick structure — which had housed the church on its second floor — was renovated: its interior was completely removed and eight new classrooms were installed with new heating, lighting, and plumbing. The school reopened in September 1955 and continued to operate until it was closed in 1997.
