Our History
In 1909, as Milwaukee expanded westward, Archbishop Sebastian G. Messmer recognized the need for a new parish to serve German Catholics settling in the area. The land was purchased in November 1909, and the parish was officially established on May 8, 1911. The first Mass was celebrated in August 1911 in a store flat. The parish built its first school in 1912, and by 1929, construction began on a new church, completed in 1930. The parish has grown through the decades, weathering economic and historical challenges, and continues to serve as a vital community presence.
