St. Sabina was a Roman Catholic parish in Florissant, Missouri, in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, serving the Catholic community in northern St. Louis County for more than six decades. Erected by Archbishop Joseph Elmer Ritter in 1960 and dedicated in 1963, the parish was originally housed in a worship space built as a gymnasium attached to its school — explicitly intended as a temporary church until a more permanent one could be constructed. As part of the Archdiocese's sweeping 'All Things New' pastoral planning initiative, St. Sabina Parish was amalgamated into Saint Ferdinand Parish in Florissant on August 1, 2023. The St. Sabina Campus at 1625 Swallow Lane remains part of the Saint Ferdinand Parish footprint, with a separate decree ordering the closure and deconsecration of the St. Sabina Church building effective April 17, 2026.

Origins and Founding (1960)
Saint Sabina Parish was erected in 1960 by the Most Reverend Joseph Elmer Ritter, then Archbishop of Saint Louis, to serve Catholics in the Florissant area of northern St. Louis County. From its founding the parish was paired with a parish school, and Archbishop Ritter specifically designated that the initial worship space — built at 1625 Swallow Lane — would be temporary, intended to serve until a more worthy and permanent church could be constructed. The church was dedicated in 1963.

Building and Architecture
Saint Sabina Church was constructed in 1963 in the form of a gymnasium attached to a parish school. Amalgamation into Saint Ferdinand Parish (2023)
As part of the 'All Things New' pastoral planning initiative led by Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski, Saint Sabina Parish was amalgamated with Saint Martin de Porres Parish in Hazelwood into Saint Ferdinand Parish in Florissant, effective August 1, 2023. Effective December 2, 2023, all Masses for the combined parish were celebrated at Saint Ferdinand Church, 1765 Charbonier Rd, Florissant, MO 63031. The St. Sabina Campus at 1625 Swallow Lane remained part of the Saint Ferdinand Parish property footprint.

Closure of the St. Sabina Church Building (2026)
On April 7, 2026, Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski issued a formal decree ordering the closure of the Saint Sabina Church building (distinct from the 2023 parish merger), citing the inability of Saint Ferdinand Parish to financially maintain the St. Sabina structure together with the other absorbed properties. The decree is effective April 17, 2026, and directs that the altar and other sacred objects be carefully removed and stored. Members of Saint Ferdinand Parish aggrieved by the decree were given the canonical right to seek revocation or emendation, with written appeals postmarked no later than April 28, 2026.
