History of St. Rose
The church was completed and first used on September 15, 1876. Initially a mission of St. Joseph’s in Winona, it later became affiliated with St. Charles for Hart and Lewiston. From 1917 to 1990, it operated independently. Due to priest shortages, it now functions as part of a tri-parish cluster with Holy Trinity (Rollingstone) and St. Joseph (Rushford). The current building was erected in 1968 after demolition of the old church, which was deemed inadequate for liturgical needs. The parish has 206 households and continues to evolve through programs that support faith formation and community life.
