History of the Parish

St. Rita's roots run back to the Ranger oil-boom era. The 1920 church building remains a piece of local history, and the parish opened St. Rita's Parochial School in 1921. That school educated local Catholic children for about thirty years before closing in 1952. Today, St. Rita continues its mission as part of a five-parish family (St. Rita, St. John, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Boniface) that the parish website describes as 'the embodiment of the Catholic tradition for a century and more.'
