Parish History
St. Priscilla Parish was established in June 1961 by founding pastor Fr. Frank Cushing to serve the growing Catholic population of western Livonia, near Seven Mile and Middlebelt. The current octagon-shaped church building was completed in 1974 and houses devotional images of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Our Lady of Guadalupe on opposite sides of the nave, with a Madonna and Child in the sanctuary and a statue of Our Lady in the vestibule. The parish grew significantly through two waves of parish closures in the Archdiocese of Detroit. In 2005, members of the closed St. Agatha Parish in Redford Township followed their pastor Fr. Jim McNulty to St. Priscilla, and a few years later additional members arrived when nearby St. Catherine of Siena in Detroit was also closed. From February 2011 the parish was served by the Indian Pallottine religious order (SAC), with Fr. Theodore D'Cunha, SAC, as pastor. The 50th anniversary was celebrated in October 2011 with a Mass presided over by Archbishop Allen Vigneron, at which founding parishioners were honored with white shawls (an Indian tradition of welcome) and blessed crucifixes. In 2020 Fr. Joseph Tuskiewicz was named administrator and then pastor, and in April 2026 the Archdiocese announced that St. Priscilla would join the new Livonia Area Family of Parishes effective July 1, 2026.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Faith formation at St. Priscilla follows a modern family catechesis model in which parents are recognized as the first teachers of the faith. Children in grades 1–8 meet in person once a month on Sundays (9:30–11:00 AM) — children in classrooms with catechists while parents gather with the Director of Religious Education. Between in-person sessions, students work through assigned chapters from Augustine Institute's Word of Life series (grades 1–6) and Ascension Press' Chosen (grades 7–8). Sacramental preparation is built into the program: First Reconciliation is celebrated at the parish, Confirmation is preceded by a required retreat at the Solanus Casey Center, and 7th–8th graders have Mass-attendance, service-hour, and Adoration-hour requirements to prepare for Confirmation.

St. Priscilla runs a range of adult formation opportunities throughout the year, reflecting the parish's commitment to lifelong spiritual formation. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) welcomes those exploring becoming Catholic, while ongoing studies include a Tuesday-morning Bible Study led by Mary Rice, a Friday Catholic Cafe with rotating Catholic topics, and special studies like the Consecration to St. Joseph 2021 program. The parish also hosts a Faith & Friendship group for adults with disabilities.

Parish Ministries & Outreach

Livonia Area Family of Parishes
On April 13, 2026 the Archdiocese of Detroit announced that St. Priscilla would be formally grouped into the new Livonia Area Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2026. The Livonia Area Family brings together four parishes in the Livonia–Farmington area under shared priestly ministry. Fr. Jeffrey Day was appointed as a Full-Time Priest to the family, with the expectation that he would serve primarily at St. Aidan Parish, Livonia.
