History of St. Pius X Parish
The first Mass at St. Pius X was celebrated on August 15, 1952, in the old dairy barn. The first Mass in the new church was offered on Easter Sunday, 1953. The parish opened a 16-room grade school in September 1953. By 1964, the parish had outgrown its original space. The parish was shaped by generations of pastoral leadership and active lay involvement, especially in social justice, peacebuilding, and parish collaboration.
Worship and Liturgy
Mass is celebrated on weekends and weekdays. Confession is available on Sundays, Saturdays, and Thursdays. The Rosary is prayed on Mondays at 8:30 am.

- Fr. Leander Schneider, SDS1952-1968
First pastor; oversaw building and growth of parish; first Mass in dairy barn, then new church in 1953.
- Fr. Raphael Birringer, SDS1968-1976
Pastor during Vatican II era; led parish through social activism and justice initiatives.
- Fr. Luke McArthur, SDS1976-1989
Pastor during 25th anniversary; led justice and peace ministry; welcomed Cuban refugees; supported sanctuary movement.
- Fr. Bill Remmel, SDS1989-1994
Pastor who oversaw administrative restructuring and hiring of first Director of Administrative Services.
- Fr. Keith Brennan, SDS1994-2000
Pastor during urban parish challenges; led Tri-Parish collaboration; secured grant to save school; introduced new liturgical practices.
