History of the Parish
St. Pius X was built and dedicated in 1958 to serve Catholics in northwest Nashville. Bishop William L. Adrian blessed the church on September 3, 1958. A parish school opened in 1961 and continues today as St. Pius X Classical Academy. In 2021 the Vietnamese Catholic Community of Nashville relocated its main weekly Mass to the parish under Bishop J. Mark Spalding's approval, transforming it into a multilingual hub of the diocese.

Vietnamese Catholic Community of Nashville
For more than two decades the Vietnamese Catholic Community worshipped at St. Martha Church in Ashland City. Father Hung Pham, who took over as chaplain in 2019, sought a more central home, and on June 6, 2021, the community officially moved its weekly Mass to St. Pius X at the invitation of then-pastor Father Abraham Panthalanickal and with Bishop Spalding's approval. The community has since grown to around 180 families, with weekly Sunday Masses drawing about 300 worshippers and weekly attendance continuing to climb after the restoration of the Sunday Mass obligation. Father Pham has also hosted Vietnamese New Year (Tết) celebrations at the parish, attracting 550–600 people to a single Mass in the school gym.

St. Pius X Classical Academy
St. Pius X Classical Academy is the parish school, fully accredited by the State of Tennessee, the diocesan Catholic Schools office, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). It serves students from PreK3 through eighth grade (parish profile) or fourth grade (most recent school About page), with a curriculum directed toward the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each child. The school partners closely with parents — recognized by the Catholic Church as primary educators — to deliver a Catholic-classical education. Its motto, "To renew all things in Christ," comes directly from Pope St. Pius X.

Admissions & Tuition
Applications are submitted online with a non-refundable $50 application fee. After processing by the school office, prospective families are invited to a visit day or scheduled appointment. Acceptance letters are sent by mail, and new transfer students are admitted on a three-month probationary period.
