St. Pius X Catholic Church in Mission, Kansas, is a vibrant parish dedicated to living out its mission: 'To restore all things in Christ.' Founded in 1954, the parish offers a welcoming community for spiritual growth, active service, and sacramental life. It serves the local area with regular weekend and weekday Masses, Adoration, Confession, and a variety of ministries including religious education, RCIA, and outreach to the homebound. The parish is led by Pastor Fr. History
Founded on June 28, 1954, by Archbishop Edward J. Hunkeler, St. Pius X was established between Roe and Antioch and the county line to 65th Street. The parish was named after the recently canonized Pope St. Pius X. Ground was broken in February 1955, and the cornerstone was blessed by Archbishop Hunkeler on May 27, 1955. The first Mass was celebrated on October 5, 1955. The parish school opened in January 1956 with 290 students. Pastors have included Fr. Francis Glowacki (1954–1971), Fr. Charles Brink (1971–1977), Fr. John Rossiter (1977–1986), Fr. Robert Burger (1986–1991), Fr. Robert Hasenkamp (1991–2001), Fr. Peter O'Sullivan (2001–2003), Fr. Ken Kelly (2003–2022), and current pastor Fr. Gerard Alba (since July 1, 2022).
Ministries
St. Pius X offers a wide range of ministries to serve the spiritual, educational, and social needs of its parishioners. These include Religious Education, RCIA, Music Ministry, Homebound Ministry, Spiritual Direction, Parish Council, Knights of Columbus, Women’s Club, Men’s Club, JPII School, and more. Volunteers and staff work together to ensure that every member of the parish community feels welcomed and supported.

Sacraments
The parish offers all seven sacraments: Baptism, Reconciliation (Confession), Eucharist (Mass), Confirmation, Marriage, Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Orders. Sacramental preparation is available through the Religious Education and RCIA programs. The parish also provides opportunities for spiritual growth through Adoration, Rosary, and daily Mass readings.

Mass & Prayer
Mass is celebrated daily, with weekday Masses at 8:15 am (Tuesday–Friday and First Saturday), and weekend Masses at 4:30 pm (Saturday) and 8:30 am and 11:00 am (Sunday). Adoration is held Thursday evenings from 7 am to 9 pm, and the First Sunday of the month from 2:00–4:00 pm with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Rosary at 3 pm. Rosary is prayed Tuesday–Friday at 7:45 am and Saturday at 4:00 pm. Daily Mass readings are available via email or website.
