St. Pius X Parish is a Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of Boston located at 101 Wolcott Road on the Hyde Park/Milton line in Milton, Massachusetts. Established in 1954 — within a month of Pope Pius X's canonization — the parish was erected by Archbishop Richard J. Cushing to serve Catholic families in the Neponset River Valley. Since 2014, St. Pius X has been joined with Most Precious Blood (Hyde Park) and Saint Anne (Readville) to form the Catholic Parishes of the Blue Hills Collaborative, which today shares a pastor and staff across the three parishes. The parish continues to serve its community from its Wolcott Road campus and reaches into Fuller Village, the Fairmount Housing Development, and nearby Curry College.

Parishioners can worship with two Sunday Masses (Saturday vigil and Sunday morning), weekday Masses on Tuesday and Friday, weekly Confession, ongoing Faith Formation for children, teens and adults (including RCIA), and active outreach through St. Vincent de Paul and other parish ministries.

Parish History
St. Pius X was erected as a new parish on the Hyde Park/Milton line effective midnight, June 6, 1954 by Archbishop Richard J. Cushing — within a month of Pope Pius X's canonization. The first Mass was celebrated in the Church Hall on December 18, 1954, and the upper church was ready by Easter Sunday 1955. The parish's first pastor, Rev. John Joseph Sullivan, died March 8, 1956 after less than two years. He was followed by Monsignor Edward Desmond (1956–1967), Monsignor William Conley (1967–1968), and Father David M. Burke, whose 39-year pastorate (1968–2007) saw the parish through both the threat of suppression in 2004 and the era's clergy abuse crisis.

The Blue Hills Collaborative
In October 2013, as part of the Archdiocese of Boston's 'Disciples in Mission' Phase Two program, Cardinal Seán O'Malley announced the formation of 21 parish collaboratives — one of which united St. Pius X with Most Precious Blood (Hyde Park) and Saint Anne (Readville). The name 'Blue Hills' was chosen by popular vote in late 2014 and refers to the geographic area around the Neponset River Valley in the shadow of the Blue Hills; Brush Hill in Milton is itself an offshoot of the range. A 'collaborative' is not a merger: the three parishes remain separate canonical and civil entities with their own assets, liabilities and donations, sharing only a pastor, high-level staff, and certain overhead expenses.

Faith Formation (Children & Teens)
The Catholic Parishes of the Blue Hills run a unified Faith Formation program for children and teens from Kindergarten through the celebration of Confirmation. Classes for Grades K–8 are held at the Collaborative Center at 20 Como Road, Hyde Park, just behind St. Anne Church. The 2025–2026 schedule is built around a Family Mass on the first Sunday of each month and a class day on the last Sunday of each month.

Becoming Catholic & Adult Faith
The Collaborative offers RCIA ('Becoming Catholic') and ongoing Adult Faith Formation as part of the unified Faith Formation programming. Anyone not yet registered with a parish of the Archdiocese of Boston is encouraged to register with one of the three Blue Hills parishes first.

Music Ministry
Music for all liturgies across the Collaborative is overseen by David Jenkins, Director of Music, who had previously served as organist and music director at Most Precious Blood for over 40 years before taking on the role for the entire Collaborative. He schedules the parish musicians and oversees maintenance of the churches' instruments.
