St. Pius X Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in the Amoskeag Deanery of the Diocese of Manchester, located at 575 Candia Road on the east side of Manchester, New Hampshire. The parish was established in 1955 and worships in the company of two permanent deacons and a pastor who also serves as the Judicial Vicar for the diocese. Weekend Masses are celebrated Saturday evening and twice on Sunday, with daily Mass Monday through Thursday and a full faith-formation program, choir, men's and women's groups, and a parish food pantry.

History of St. Pius X Parish
St. Pius X Parish was established in 1955 by Bishop William T. Mulloy of what was then the Diocese of Manchester, carved out to serve the growing Catholic population on the east side of the city along Candia Road. The parish grew together with its parish school and developed the ministries — faith formation, choirs, altar servers, food pantry, and parish nurse — that continue to serve families today. Over the years the diocese has assigned a succession of priests; a 2017 assignment record shows Fr. Arockia I. Antony, HGN, being named Parochial Vicar. The parish today is pastored by Very Rev. Georges de Laire, J.C.L., with the assistance of two permanent deacons and a lay pastoral staff.

Faith Formation and Religious Education
Faith Formation for students in Grades K–8 meets Wednesday evenings from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, with parallel preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Communion offered in the same time slot. Children's Liturgy of the Word is offered for children ages 5–11 on the second and last Sunday of each month during the 10:00 AM Mass. Registration and inquiries go through Samuel Dahlberg, Coordinator of Religious Education.

Music and Liturgy
The parish choir, under Music Director Michael Joseph, sings at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass and at Christmas and Easter liturgies, with weekly rehearsals and a Sunday morning warm-up. Altar servers (Grade 4 through adults) are needed at all weekend Masses, especially on Feast Days and Holy Days; current servers also help cover Masses when sacraments are celebrated. Liturgical volunteers include lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and other roles that support the celebration of the Mass.

Sacraments
Baptisms are scheduled through the parish office and require attendance at a Parent Enrichment Class (held several times a year on Monday evenings at 6:30 PM; register with Deacon Jim). Couples celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage are asked to contact the parish office at least six months in advance to allow time for preparation. Reconciliation is offered weekly on Saturday afternoons and by appointment; First Communion and Confirmation are prepared within the Faith Formation program.

Parish Groups and Outreach
Adults have several communities within the parish to choose from. Men of St. Pius X meets monthly on the second Saturday, and Women of Mary gathers on the third Saturday at 9:30 AM at the parish center. A Senior Group and the Parish Nurse program both meet Fridays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, providing fellowship and basic health questions and referrals. Outreach includes the St. Pius X Food Pantry, which serves neighbors in need in the Manchester area.

Volunteer and Diocesan Opportunities
The parish regularly calls for altar servers at every weekend Mass and supports diocesan initiatives such as Totus Tuus, a week-long summer catechetical program that sends college-age missionaries to parish sites across the diocese. The parish also serves as a local contact for Courage International, a diocesan ministry supporting Catholics who experience same-sex attractions and desire to live chastely.
