St. Pius X Catholic Church is a parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Honolulu (Vicariate of East Honolulu), located at 2821 Lowrey Avenue in the Manoa Valley neighborhood of Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Established in 1958, it grew out of Sacred Heart Parish in nearby Punahou to serve the growing Catholic population of Manoa. The parish's mission is 'To feed the Lord's flock,' and its vision calls the community to live 'the happy and good witnessing of the Gospel through our Faith, Service, and Praise.' Today it is pastored by Rev. Nicholas Brown (since July 1, 2023) and is known especially for its active Food Pantry, faith-formation programs for children and youth, weekly OCIA process for adults, and a tradition of hosting devotional life (First Friday adoration, First Saturday and First Wednesday devotions, Perpetual Help Novena, daily Rosary).

Daily and weekend Masses (with the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass live-streamed) make it easy to find a service to call your own, and a rich devotional life — daily Rosary at 7 a.m., Wednesday Perpetual Help Novena, First Friday Adoration and Benediction, and First Saturday and First Wednesday devotions — gives the parish a strong prayer rhythm. Families are served by Religious Education (K–8), Youth Ministry (grades 9–12), Young Adult Ministry, and an OCIA process for adults entering the Church, coordinated by longtime evangelist Dominic Olaso. History of the Parish
St. Pius X was established in 1958 as a daughter parish of Sacred Heart Parish in Punahou, born of the need to serve the growing Catholic community in Mānoa Valley. The parish operated independently until 1999, when Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo clustered it with Sacred Heart under a single pastor (a response to the era's clergy shortage), creating what became known as the Manoa-Punahou Catholic Community. Bishop Larry Silva announced the de-clustering in November 2018, and on January 1, 2019, St. Pius X and Sacred Heart each received their own pastoral leader again.

Faith Formation and the OCIA Process
The parish runs a full catechetical program: Religious Education for grades K–8, Youth Ministry for grades 9–12, Young Adult Ministry, and OCIC/OCIA for children and adults. The OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) program, for adults 18 and older seeking full membership in the Catholic Church through Baptism, Confirmation, and/or Eucharist, meets after the 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass and is coordinated by Dominic Olaso — Head of the Diocesan Evangelization TaskForce, Campus Minister at Our Lady of Good Counsel School, and Music Ministry Leader for the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Registration forms are available at the back of the church or in the parish office.

Outreach: Food Pantry and Charity
The parish Food Pantry has been one of its most visible ministries, opening its doors on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The pantry serves residents of the Manoa, University, Punahou, and upper Makiki neighborhoods on O‘ahu (a picture ID is required). St. Pius X also makes hospital visits and brings Holy Communion to the homebound, and the pastor welcomes inquiries about vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Sacraments at St. Pius X
The parish celebrates all seven Catholic sacraments on a regular schedule. Baptisms, First Communion, and Confirmation are prepared through the Religious Education and OCIA programs. Couples planning to marry are asked to meet a priest and begin preparation at least six months before the wedding, per diocesan policy. The rectory assists with funerals, anointing of the sick, and home Communion, and offers a Wedding Anniversary Blessing for couples celebrating milestones at Mass (arranged through the parish office).
