About St. Pius the Tenth Mission Church

St. Pius the Tenth Mission Church is a seasonal Roman Catholic mission church at 108 Colebrook Road in Errol, New Hampshire, in the far northern part of Coos County. It is a worship site of North American Martyrs Parish, whose main offices are at 55 Pleasant Street in Colebrook. History & Founding

According to the official 2007 Diocesan Decree of Merger, St. Pius X Mission has served the Catholic faithful of Errol since 1953, when it was established as part of St. Brendan Parish in Colebrook. On October 7, 2007, Bishop John B. McCormack merged St. Albert Parish (West Stewartstown) with St. Brendan Parish (Colebrook) — including the St. Pius X Mission and St. William of York Chapel in Dixville Notch — into a single territorial parish named North American Martyrs Parish. The decree specifically preserved the names of the four worship sites and transferred ownership of all parish assets, including the St. Pius Forest Lawn Cemetery, to the new merged parish.

St. Pius Forest Lawn Cemetery

St. Pius Forest Lawn Cemetery in Errol is one of three Catholic cemeteries maintained by North American Martyrs Parish, alongside St. Albert Cemetery in West Stewartstown and St. Brendan Cemetery in Colebrook. In all, the Diocese of Manchester oversees 66 Catholic cemeteries across New Hampshire. According to diocesan teaching, Catholic cemeteries are 'Monuments of Hope and Peace' and 'Witnesses to Everlasting Life,' providing a sacred place to pray for the dead and to fulfill the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy.
