Saint Pius V Oratory at Cherry Mound is a historic Catholic oratory near Harpers Ferry, Iowa, and one of the faith communities that form Holy Family of The Bluffs Parish. Nestled in eastern Allamakee County along the Mississippi River bluffs, it serves a rural congregation rooted in generations of farming families and river-town life. History
St. Pius at Cherry Mound began as a Mission Church and received its first resident pastor, Father John Horsfield, in 1891, who oversaw the building of a rectory. The parish has long served the rural Catholic community in the hills above Harpers Ferry, Iowa.
