About the Pastorate
In 2021, St. Philip Neri (Linthicum Heights, Anne Arundel County) and St. Clement I (Lansdowne, Baltimore County) combined efforts to form the St. Clement and St. Philip Neri Pastorate under the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The two parishes share clergy and staff, while maintaining distinct Mass and confession schedules at each church site. The mission of the pastorate is to 'lead parishioners and neighbors to encounter Jesus Christ in the SCRIPTURES, the SACRAMENTS, and the CHARITABLE WORKS of the Catholic Church.' A Spanish-language Hispanic ministry is based at St. Clement, with Spanish Masses celebrated Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings.

History of St. Philip Neri
St. Philip Neri parish was created in Linthicum Heights in 1964 to serve a growing Catholic population in northern Anne Arundel County. A church, school, and rectory were built at the founding. The parish was built during a period of rapid suburban expansion, as the area transitioned from a rural farming community into a populated commuter hub. Key milestones include a parish center built in 2010 and a church renovation in 2020. In 2021 the parish combined with neighboring St. Clement to form the current pastorate.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Faith Formation for children not enrolled in the parish school is led by Laura Graham. Children preparing for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion use The New St. Joseph Catechism, and families must be registered parishioners with at least one year of prior Catholic formation. RCIA meets Wednesday evenings at 7:15 p.m. for adults seeking initiation into the Catholic Church, coordinated by Deacon Mark Rachid. A Bible Study ministry is also active in the parish.

Youth Ministry

St. Philip Neri Catholic School
St. Philip Neri Catholic School is a co-ed Archdiocesan elementary and middle school serving Pre-K(4) through Grade 8 on a 15-acre campus at 6401 S. Orchard Road, Linthicum, MD. The school opened September 8, 1965 and is dedicated to 'nourishing the SOUL, MIND and BODY' of every student. A rigorous Archdiocese of Baltimore academic curriculum is paired with Spanish instruction PK4–8 and an elective in Latin. The school holds Mass twice a month highlighting saints' feast days, plus class Masses every Thursday at 9:00 a.m. It is accredited by Cognia through June 2027.

Service & Outreach Ministries
St. Philip Neri maintains a large network of outreach ministries serving both the parish community and the wider Northern Anne Arundel County area. The parish Food Pantry alone distributes more than $36,000 in groceries a year to roughly 60 households a month. The parish partners with the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, NCEON (North County Emergency Outreach Network), and HOPE For All (founded in 2004 by a former SPN teacher).

Knights of Columbus Council #14612
St. Philip Neri is home to Knights of Columbus Council #14612, part of the world's largest Catholic fraternal service organization. The council supports the parish through charitable giving, food drives (including an annual holiday drive benefiting the parish Food Pantry, Mato Grosso, and the Homeless Outreach), and sponsors the parish's monthly Fellowship Sundays on the first Sunday of the month from September through May (8:00 am – 1:00 pm).

Liturgy & Sacraments at the School
Faith is integrated into daily life at St. Philip Neri School through weekly school Masses (every Thursday at 9:00 a.m.), monthly liturgies planned by individual grades, penance services throughout the year, and a parish-wide praying of the Rosary. The school religion program uses the Archdiocese of Baltimore curriculum and aims at the three-fold dimensions of message, community, and service.
