About St. Peter · Goldthwaite, Texas
St. Peter Catholic Church is a small Roman Catholic mission parish in Goldthwaite, Texas, in the Diocese of Austin. Its roots go back to 1885, when a visiting priest would travel into the area once a year to celebrate Mass in the home of one of the early Catholic settlers; the community built its first small church in 1917 and a second, larger church in 1966. Since 1967 the parish has been administered as a mission of St. Mary Catholic Church in San Saba, and the two communities now share a pastor who serves both. The parish offers weekend Mass in both English and Spanish, weekly Eucharistic Adoration, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation before Sunday Mass and after Wednesday Mass.

Why belong here
St. Peter's is a small, bilingual mission parish with deep roots in rural Mills County, offering weekend Mass in both English and Spanish and a simple weekly rhythm of worship, Adoration, and Confession. The community is small enough that parishioners know one another, and the mission is supported by a wider network of parish ministries — liturgical, outreach, and faith formation — shared with its sister parish of St. Mary's in San Saba.
