History of St. Paul the Apostle, Mechanicville
The companion Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Mechanicville has roots going back to 1852, when the parish was first established. The current Gothic Revival church was designed by architect Edward W. Loth. Its cornerstone was laid on Sunday, June 2, 1912, by Bishop Thomas M. A. Burke, and the completed church was dedicated on Sunday, October 14, 1917, by Bishop Thomas F. Cusack. Construction costs were reported at $200,000.
