St. Patrick Church in Weston, West Virginia, is one of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston’s oldest parishes, established in 1848. It was founded to serve Irish and German immigrants who worked on the Staunton to Parkersburg Turnpike, and its current building was constructed in 1914 under Rev. John J. Swint. The parish has operated schools since 1855 and has been served by a long line of pastors, including Rev. Douglas A. Ondeck, the current pastor. The church is dedicated to St. Patrick, Ireland’s patron saint, and celebrates his feast day annually.
