History of St. Patrick Parish
St. Patrick Catholic Parish traces its origins to 1857, when Troy's first Catholic Mass was celebrated at the home of John Danaher. The first church was built in 1858 at Crawford and Water Streets and dedicated by Bishop Rosecrans; enlarged in 1883 by Father J. M. Feldmann; and served by its first resident pastor in 1877. After Father F. H. Bene founded St. Patrick School in 1886, Father Anthony J. Mentink arrived in 1906 and led the parish for 52 years, building the present Gothic-style limestone church whose cornerstone was laid in May 1916 and whose first Mass was celebrated on Thanksgiving Day 1916. Father Mentink died at his desk in 1958; major restoration in 1982 cost $136,000; and the church's centennial Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated by Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr on December 11, 2016.

Faith formation at St. Patrick spans the parish school, preschool, religious education, youth ministry, young-adult ministry, and adult faith formation. The K-8 school, founded in 1886 by Father F. H. Bene and now in its 14th decade, partners with Piqua Catholic School under Principal of Schools Cyndi Cathcart and is supported by an attached preschool directed by Grace Dexter.

Our Lady of Fatima Family of Parishes
Since July 1, 2022, St. Patrick has been the lead parish of the Our Lady of Fatima Family of Parishes in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's NW-6 (Northwest Deanery, Family 6).
