About St. Patrick Parish

St. Patrick Parish is a Catholic parish at 29 Spring Street in Nashua, New Hampshire, within the Diocese of Manchester. Parish History

St. Patrick's roots run to 1855, when Nashua was created an independent Catholic mission under Father John O'Donnell, V.G., with Masses celebrated across Nashua, Concord, Penacook, Milford, and Hollis. By 1857 the congregation numbered around 2,000 and Immaculate Conception Church was built on Temple Street. As the Irish Catholic community grew toward 2,300, a larger and more centralized church was needed; ground was broken in 1901, the present church completed in 1909, and it was formally dedicated in 1910 under first pastor Monsignor Matthew J. Creamer.

• 2001 – St. Casimir community welcomed into St. Patrick
• 2007 – First Traditional Latin Mass offered at the parish

Worship Schedule

The parish offers Mass in English throughout the week and a weekly Traditional Latin Mass. Weekday Masses are celebrated at 12:05 PM Monday through Friday in the church, with Confessions heard just beforehand from 11:15 AM. Saturday features a Latin Mass at 8:00 AM and the Vigil Mass at 4:00 PM; Sunday Masses are at 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM. Confessions are scheduled before nearly every Mass.

Faith Formation

Faith Formation at St. Patrick is staffed by Ruth Thompson and Linda Pomeroy and serves children, youth, and adult catechumens. The parish also runs a recurring 'Catechesis for All' series of catechetical talks given by Fr. Kerper following the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass, and offers online registration for families on the parish website.

Outreach & Charity

St. Patrick runs an Outreach ministry whose members visit the sick and homebound of the parish — whether in their own homes, in nursing facilities, or assisted living centers — at least once a month, offering companionship, prayer, and sacramentals such as prayer cards, scapulars, and rosaries. The parish also staffs a 'Help for Those in Need' phone line and co-sponsors the DAY Café, a Monday–Friday morning hospitality ministry serving coffee and snacks to neighbors in need on Main Street.

Parish Groups & Fellowship

Parish life at St. Patrick is centered on the Eucharist and extended through parish societies, prayer groups, and regular fellowship events for all ages.

• Women's Prayer Group – Saturdays 8:30–9:30 PM (after the 8:00 AM Mass)
• Knights of Columbus Council 11907 – monthly business meeting on the third Tuesday at the Parish Center, beginning with the Rosary at 7 PM
• Fellowship Time – hosted by the Knights of Columbus on the second Sunday of each month after the 9:30 AM Mass
• Monthly Pancake Breakfast – third Sunday after the 9:30 AM Mass, Parish Center Rooms 3 & 4
• Potluck Brunch – parish community fellowship after the 9:30 AM Mass

Music Ministry

St. Patrick's music ministry supports both the Ordinary Form Masses and the weekly Traditional Latin Mass. Marc DeMille serves as Organist, and Chris Bord directs the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass as Organist/Director.

St. Patrick Cemetery

The parish cemetery was purchased in 1856 on land across the Merrimack River from Nashua in the town of Hudson, and includes the Calvary Group installed in 1920. The Cemetery Office now serves both Saint Patrick Cemetery and Holy Cross Cemeteries in Hudson, and is directed by Diane Duffy; pre-planning consultations are available by appointment.
