St. Patrick Church is a bilingual Catholic parish located at 555 E. Del Mar Blvd. in Laredo, Texas, serving the Diocese of Laredo. Established on September 1, 1970 by Bishop Thomas J. Drury (then Bishop of Corpus Christi) with Salesian roots, the parish grew from its first Masses in a Salesian Sisters' school cafeteria into a thriving community that today celebrates Mass in both English and Spanish every day of the week. Under the leadership of Very Rev. Anthony Mendoza as pastor, the parish offers a Perpetual Adoration Chapel, extensive faith formation for all ages, and active youth, family, and liturgical ministries rooted in Salesian tradition.

Parish History & Salesian Heritage
St. Patrick Church was officially established on September 1, 1970 by Bishop Thomas J. Drury, then Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi. The parish was one of several new parishes erected in Laredo during Drury's tenure to serve the city's growing Catholic population. St. Patrick has Salesian roots: its first Mass was celebrated in the cafeteria of the Salesian Sisters' School on Del Mar Boulevard, and weekday Masses were originally offered in the convent chapel — a heritage the parish continues to honor. Monsignor Kevin Dunne served as the parish's first pastor, and the present church at 555 E. Del Mar Blvd. was solemnly dedicated by Bishop Drury on Sunday, May 25, 1975 at 5:00 p.m.

The parish is led by Very Rev. Anthony Mendoza as Pastor and is assisted by two parochial vicars, Fr. Oscar Gonzalez and Fr. Francisco J. Hernandez. Five deacons serve the community: Ramiro Garza, Jose (Joe) Longoria, Steve E. Landin, Miguel Robles, and Gustavo Montemayor. Lay staff include Karla C. Faith Formation & Religious Education
The Religious Education program at St. Patrick serves people of all ages, from children as young as three through adults, in both English and Spanish. The parish offers preparation for the sacraments of First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Baptism for children under seven, as well as full RCIA for adults seeking Baptism, Confirmation, and First Communion.

Youth & Teen Ministries
St. Patrick runs two parallel youth programs through Life Teen and EDGE, both meeting on Sunday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Middle-school students gather for EDGE in the Parish Hall, while high-school teens gather for Life Teen immediately after the 6:00 PM Teen Mass. Both programs are led by adult Core Members and high-school Life Teen missionaries, are free to join, and are open to teens from any parish. EDGE students are also encouraged to take part in the 6:00 PM Teen Mass as ushers, lectors, altar servers, or in music ministry.

ACTS Retreats
St. Patrick hosts ACTS retreats — four-day, three-night Catholic lay retreats presented by fellow parishioners — for men and women separately. The acronym ACTS stands for Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service, and the weekends draw on Holy Scripture and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, taking on the traditions and atmosphere of the parish community. Each retreat is led by a team of 25 individuals who have attended prior ACTS retreats.

Liturgical Ministries (Lectors)
Parishioners are invited to serve as lectors at Mass, proclaiming Sacred Scripture in both English and Spanish. Coordinators organize training and scheduling for those who wish to participate in this liturgical ministry.

Sacraments — Baptism, Matrimony, Anointing of the Sick
Baptisms are celebrated the First Saturday of the month in Spanish and the Third Saturday of the month in English, with required preparation classes (in both languages) held on the Wednesdays before the first Saturday. Weddings require arrangements to be made at least six months in advance, with a list of wedding regulations available from the parish office. The parish also celebrates the Anointing of the Sick.
