Parish Mission and Vision

St. Patrick Parish is a diverse and welcoming family where every person finds a home and every heart is nurtured in the truth and Tradition of the Catholic Church. The parish envisions a family where all are invited to grow in the Catholic faith and rejoice in God's goodness, fostering a deep relationship with Jesus through reverent worship, prayer, ongoing formation, and service of others, especially the most vulnerable. The parish mission statement is: 'St. Patrick Parish is called to love and serve the Lord, to grow in knowledge, virtue and holiness and to spread the Gospel.'

Parish History

Founded in 1873 by Irish and German Catholic families, St. Patrick grew from a small frame church into a parish of more than 1,500 families. The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth opened St. Patrick School in 1949, and the present church was dedicated on April 30, 1967. The parish added a Parish Center in 1992 and converted the former convent into the Early Education Center in 2007.

• 1873 — Parish founded; Irish families name it St. Patrick, German families name the cemetery for St. Joseph.
• 1949 — St. Patrick School opens, staffed by Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.
• 1954–1967 — Masses offered in the current school lunchroom while a new church is built.
• April 30, 1967 — Present church dedicated (capacity 600).
• 1992 — New Parish Center built.
• 2007 — Former convent becomes the Early Education Center.

Parish Staff and Clergy

St. Patrick is served by a pastor, parochial vicar, a priest ministering to the Chin-Burmese community, a permanent deacon, and a team of lay staff overseeing faith formation, music, religious education, and parish operations.

Faith Formation and Religious Education

Faith formation at St. Patrick reaches children in the parish school, students in the religious education program, and adults through ongoing formation in English and Spanish. Sacramental preparation is offered for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.

• PreK3–2nd grade use Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS).
• Grades 3–8 receive religious education from a theology teacher covering Sacraments, history, catechism, and more.
• 2nd grade: preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion.
• 8th grade: preparation for Confirmation.
• Confirmation classes for middle/high schoolers and adults (annual ceremony with the Archbishop).
• Adult learning through School of Faith (schooloffaith.com).

St. Patrick School and Early Education Center

Faith at St. Patrick School is central to the mission: religion is taught to all students in accordance with archdiocesan directives. Students in grades 2–8 attend Mass on Wednesdays and all-school Mass on Fridays during the school year, with some classes adding weekly Adoration time in the church. Sacramental preparation is woven into the curriculum in 2nd and 8th grades.

• St. Patrick School opened in 1949, staffed by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.
• Grades PreK3–2 follow the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium model.
• Grades 3–8 follow a theology curriculum covering Sacraments, history, and catechism.
• School Mass twice weekly plus optional weekly Adoration.
• Early Education Center opened in 2007 in the former convent.

Ministries, Outreach, and Community Life

St. Patrick supports a wide range of parish ministries that serve families, youth, the broader community, and the most vulnerable. The Parish Center, built in 1992, hosts parish meetings, receptions, youth athletics, and school PE, and can be rented for outside functions.

• Altar Society — including a women's retreat.
• Family Life Ministries — marriage preparation mentor couples.
• Music Ministries — parish choir and music program.
• Annulment Advocate — accompanying parishioners through the annulment process.
• Parish Center rentals for parish and community functions.
