The parish shares one pastor and one website across all three mission locations, with weekend Masses and weekday Masses rotating between the church buildings of Enderlin, Fingal, and Sheldon.
History of the Tri-Parishes
Enderlin was founded in 1891 along the Soo Line Railroad, and Catholic families soon organized a parish dedicated to St. Patrick. The present-day tri-parish arrangement took shape in 2006: Holy Trinity in Fingal — which had lost its resident priest in 1984 and had been a mission of St. Bernard in Oriska — was reassigned to St. Patrick's after the 2005 closing of St. Henry's in Alice, together with Our Lady of the Scapular in Sheldon. A decade earlier, in 1991, Father Ben Bachmeier had been transferred from Holy Family Parish in Grand Forks to become pastor of St. Patrick's with missions at Alice and Sheldon; he took a leave of absence in 1992 to serve as a priest chaplain at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego.
