St. Patrick Parish is a small rural Catholic community in the village of Doylestown, Columbia County, Wisconsin, in the farming country of south-central Wisconsin. It is part of the Diocese of Madison and has served its rural congregation for well over 150 years as a Sunday worship site with a secondary weekday Mass. Since December 20, 2025, St. Patrick has been canonically merged with five other surrounding parishes (St. Jerome in Columbus, St. Olaf in DeForest, St. Joseph in East Bristol, St. Thomas the Apostle in Poynette, and St. Joseph in Rio) into the new Nativity of the Lord Parish, with St. Jerome School in Columbus serving as the parish school.

Welcome to St. Patrick Parish, Doylestown
St. Patrick is a small, rural Roman Catholic parish in the village of Doylestown, Wisconsin, in the heart of Columbia County's farming country. For more than 155 years the parish has gathered its rural congregation for Sunday worship, and it now forms part of the newly created Nativity of the Lord Parish within the Diocese of Madison. Visitors and new parishioners are warmly welcomed to register with the parish office so that the parish can better serve their spiritual needs.
Parish Staff and Parish Leadership
Since the December 2025 merger, St. Patrick is served by the clergy of Nativity of the Lord Parish: Fr. James (Jim) Leeser as Pastor, with Fr. Joji Reddy Thirumalareddy and Fr. Bala Kasipogu as Parochial Vicars. Locally, St. Patrick has its own Finance Chair (Roger Taylor), Pastoral Council Chair (James Wall), and Coordinator of Religious Education (Marcia Vangen), who coordinate with the central parish office.
Nativity of the Lord Parish Family
Effective December 20, 2025, the Diocese of Madison merged six country parishes into one new entity called Nativity of the Lord Parish. St. Patrick in Doylestown is one of six constituent worship sites, alongside St. Jerome in Columbus, St. Olaf in DeForest, St. Joseph in East Bristol, St. Thomas the Apostle in Poynette, and St. Joseph in Rio. Bishop Donald J. Hying presided over the installation of Fr. James Leeser as the first pastor on January 25 at St. Olaf Church in DeForest.

Parish School — St. Jerome School, Columbus
St. Jerome School in Columbus is the parish school for the entire Nativity of the Lord family, including St. Patrick families from Doylestown. The school serves grades 4K through 8 and is led by Principal Adrienne Van Norman. St. Jerome School has long been the academic and Catholic-formation center of the cluster.
Religious Education and Sacraments
Faith formation at St. Patrick is coordinated locally by CRE Marcia Vangen. The parish offers preparation for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Confirmation, Marriage and Anointing of the Sick by appointment through the parish office. Reconciliation is heard each Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:15 PM at St. Patrick, with additional opportunities at St. Jerome in Columbus.

Like most small rural parishes, St. Patrick is sustained by a committed core of lay leaders. The parish operates a Finance Council chaired by Roger Taylor, a Pastoral Council chaired by James Wall, and a Coordinator of Religious Education (Marcia Vangen). Getting Involved
Parishioners and visitors are encouraged to register as members of the parish, attend the weekly Sunday 8:00 AM Mass, and consider joining one of the parish councils or volunteering in faith formation. Because St. Patrick now belongs to Nativity of the Lord Parish, there are also opportunities to serve at the broader-parish level — from assisting at liturgies at any of the six worship sites to supporting St. Jerome School in Columbus.
