About St. Patrick Parish
St. Patrick Catholic Church is a Diocese of Baton Rouge parish serving southeast Baton Rouge from its campus at 12424 Brogdon Lane, LA 70816. History of St. Patrick
Founded in 1974 to serve a fast-growing corner of southeast Baton Rouge, St. Patrick worshipped for its first three-plus years in the chapel of Episcopal High School before moving into its own church building in Christmas 1977. Bishop Joseph Sullivan dedicated the new structure on January 8, 1978, and the parish immediately added a Pietà by Louisiana sculptor Frank Hayden. Over five decades the parish grew, added ministries, and in March 2025 celebrated the rededication of a newly renovated church with Bishop Michael Duca.

Parish Staff & Clergy
Father Michael Miceli is pastor of St. Patrick and also serves the Diocese of Baton Rouge as Secretary for Pastoral Services, sitting on the Bishop's Cabinet, the College of Consultors, and the Presbyteral Council. Father Matt Dupre assists with weekend confessions. The lay staff includes Sandra Colomb (Director of Administration), Melissa Harshbarger (Director of Faith Formation), and Jessica Lawrence (Parish Secretary), as well as facilities and communications personnel.

Sacraments
The parish prepares members for and celebrates all seven Catholic sacraments. Formation for First Communion and Confirmation flows through the Parish School of Religion. Anointing of the Sick is available by appointment and through a parish emergency line. Marriages, annulment petitions through the Diocesan Tribunal, and funeral planning are coordinated through the parish office.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
St. Patrick's Parish School of Religion (PSR) provides religious education for children in grades 1 through 11 whose families are registered in the parish. Confirmation preparation is a six-month process that begins in a candidate's eleventh-grade year and includes orientation with parents, formation sessions, a retreat, and group service projects. The parish also offers Vacation Bible School for children ages 5 through 5th grade.

Knights of Columbus Council 8601
St. Patrick's Knights of Columbus Council 8601 was chartered on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1984, and today has more than 140 members. The Council meets on the first Thursday of each month in the parish Family Center and supports the parish, youth, seminarians, those less fortunate, and respect-life efforts. Respect Life Ministry
The Respect Life Committee gathers on the first Tuesday of each month to pray for and organize pro-life activities. The parish participates in diocesan and national efforts including Walking with Moms in Need, the Pregnancy Problem Center of Baton Rouge, Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Nine Days for Life, the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children, the Respect Life Novena, the March for Life, and the Patriotic Rosary.

Becoming a Parishioner
Because the Diocese of Baton Rouge defines parishes by geographic boundaries, newcomers are asked to register with St. Patrick if they live within parish boundaries; those moving from outside the boundaries or transferring from another parish complete a Transfer of Church Membership form available on the parish website.
