History of St. Norbert Parish
St. Norbert was established on May 18, 1965 when Joseph Cardinal Ritter appointed Father John Grady to found a new parish in Florissant, Missouri. The name St. Norbert was assigned ten days later. A temporary rectory at 14615 New Halls Ferry Road was purchased in November 1965, the first general parish meeting was held January 20, 1966, and groundbreaking for the church took place April 10, 1966. The first Mass in the new church was offered September 3, 1967, with 559 families already registered.

Liturgy Commission
The Liturgy Commission coordinates all liturgical planning and the many liturgical ministries that enhance the worship experience at St. Norbert. Volunteers of all ages — from fifth-grade altar servers through adults — serve in these roles after appropriate training and commissioning by the pastor.

The Evangelization Commission fosters spiritual growth and the New Evangelization at St. Norbert, inspired by Archbishop Robert J. Carlson's pastoral letter 'Go and Announce the Gospel of the Lord.' It oversees several prayer communities that meet weekly on the parish campus.

Faith formation for all ages is coordinated through the parish School of Religion and the Adult Faith Development Committee, which includes sacramental preparation, RCIA, and marriage preparation.

African Ministry
St. Norbert's African Ministry is a distinctive feature of the parish, providing additional Sunday Masses to serve the diverse African Catholic community in the Florissant area. The ministry offers Mass in Swahili on the 1st Sunday, French on the 3rd Sunday, and a bilingual Unity Mass on the 4th Sunday of each month — creating one of the few truly multilingual parish worship experiences in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Kim Anderson serves as the African Ministry Coordinator.

All Saints Academy at St. Norbert Campus
All Saints Academy at the St. Norbert Campus offers a Preschool through 8th-grade Catholic education as a partnership school. In August 2018, All Saints Academy and St. Norbert Parish partnered with the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the two parishes at St. Ferdinand and St. Rose Philippine Duchesne to create a shared school with combined student, staff, and parent resources. The school is accredited through the Missouri Non-Public Accreditation Association.

Giving & Stewardship
The parish offers both online giving and traditional weekly contribution envelopes for stewardship. In a recent letter, Fr. Peter Faimega described a $600,000 improvement campaign to replace a portion of the flat roof on the school building, replace the crucifix in the main church, and renovate the old Blessed Sacrament chapel into a reliquary and prayer room — with additional funds placed in a restricted maintenance account.
