Hem of His Garment — Ecumenical Outreach
Hem of His Garment is St. Mildred's flagship outreach to the wider Swansboro community, run ecumenically with other local churches. Its vision is to serve the community beyond traditional parish ministries, 'bridging the gaps and meeting the diverse critical needs of individuals residing within the boundaries of our member churches.' The ministry runs a thrift store that funds a year-round food pantry, family assistance, the Angel Tree program, support of Meals on Wheels, special-project assistance, and help for local schools. Volunteers of all ages — including high school students — are welcomed for as little as three hours a week.
