The parish describes itself as a Christ-centered family, modeled after the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, dedicated to growing in faith, preserving Catholic heritage for future generations, and living as disciples of Jesus Christ. Its sister church is St. Matthew the Evangelist, located at 139 Spruce Street in Minersville.
History
St. Michael the Archangel Parish was constituted in July 2008 from the consolidation of three earlier Minersville-area parishes under the pastoral planning of the Diocese of Allentown. In June 2020, Father Jason Stokes recommended to Bishop Alfred A. Schlert that St. Michael the Archangel merge with neighboring St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish. After unanimous votes by both Parish Advisory Councils and Financial Committees, and favorable review by the Diocesan Council of Priests and Diocesan Pastoral Planning Commission, Bishop Schlert decreed the merger effective July 1, 2020. The unified parish was named Holy Family Parish of Minersville, with both original church buildings preserved for worship.

Sacraments
In keeping with Catholic practice, Holy Family Parish celebrates the full range of sacraments. The Anointing of the Sick is administered by request through the parish office.
